Project Description
Cadreatech Engineering Professionals were engaged to provide full-spectrum civil and structural engineering services for the development of the Vocational Training Institute Complex in Ntinda, Kampala. The project was implemented under a KOICA-funded programme aimed at strengthening technical and vocational education infrastructure in Uganda.
The institute was designed as a multi-facility training hub capable of supporting a wide range of vocational disciplines. Key facilities included a main administration block, a multi-purpose building, specialized academic and skills training buildings for electricity installation, dressmaking, automotive engineering, welding, and plumbing, as well as a dedicated substation to support reliable power supply.
In addition to building structures, the scope incorporated extensive civil engineering works such as internal access roads, parking areas, drainage networks, and external amenities. Particular attention was given to the integration of stormwater and foul water systems to ensure effective site drainage, environmental protection, and long-term sustainability.
Cadreatech’s role also involved reviewing and appraising as-built structures to confirm conformity with approved designs and applicable codes, as well as preparing and validating tender documents to support transparent procurement and quality construction. Continuous site supervision ensured that construction activities met technical specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Outcome
The project was successfully completed with the delivery of a safe, durable, and functional Vocational Training Institute complex tailored to modern technical education needs. Cadreatech’s professional input ensured structural integrity, efficient site planning, and compliance with local engineering standards and international best practices.
The completed institute provides well-organized training spaces, robust workshops, and reliable infrastructure capable of supporting long-term educational operations. The project demonstrates Cadreatech’s expertise in institutional developments, infrastructure engineering, and donor-funded projects, resulting in a facility that enhances vocational skills development and contributes to sustainable socio-economic growth in Kampala and beyond.
